Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Learnikx Education programs and policies.

Admissions

Is there a direct admission process without an entrance test? +
No, admission requires an entrance test followed by a discussion. The test is IQ-based, designed to identify students with high aptitude rather than assessing subject knowledge in Reading or Math. Unlike diagnostic tests, it serves as an elimination test for selecting a small group of students for our paid tutoring sessions. For more details, please refer to the 'Paid Tutoring Admission Rates' section on the Entrance page.
Are all classes taught by Siba Sir? +
Yes, all classes are taught by Siba Sir, as he is our only tutor. We haven't hired additional teachers because parents specifically prefer that Siba Sir personally instructs their children.
Do you offer subject-specific tutoring like Maths only or Writing only? +
We don't offer subject-specific tutoring, even for high school students. Our approach is comprehensive, covering all subjects in a bundled format. We prioritise subjects based on each student's needs, and that can change from class to class. All our programs include 4 weekly trial tests & homework.
Do you offer trial classes (free or paid)? +
Siba Sir does not offer trial classes. Admission to Siba Sir's tuition is highly competitive.
When will I receive the invoice? +
Invoices are typically generated in the second week of the current term and sent to the parent's registered email address.
Do you offer discounts or promotions? +

We do not offer discounts, bonuses, or promotions. These are retail concepts, and we are not a retail business. Education is sacred to us — we do not consider education to be a product for sale and therefore do not engage in retail-style discounting.

Our philosophy is rooted in a traditional Asian perspective on education, valuing quality, integrity, and fairness. Our fees are all-inclusive, transparent, and the same for every family. Please do not request discounts based on competitor practices, as we do not operate on the same model.

Can we re-enrol if we discontinue a term? +

Learnikx Education maintains a mandatory 2-year gap policy for student re-entry.

We understand that there are very rare instances when our tutoring services may not meet expectations. We respect these decisions. Given that situations typically do not change frequently, we do not encourage frequent changes of mind. Should a former student wish to re-enrol, a minimum period of 2 years must have elapsed since their last attended class.

Operations

Do you disclose student rank in trial tests? +
We display the highest weekly score on-screen for student reference but do not provide rankings. Given our small, selectively chosen cohort, internal rankings would not meaningfully reflect broader population standings. Instead, sharing top scores and the number of students achieving them offers clear targets, highlighting the similar achievement levels within our group.
What happens if my child misses a class? Are recordings shared? +

We do not record our online sessions. In a recent survey, 92% of parents expressed that they did not want the sessions to be recorded.

We do not bill for up to ONE missed class per term (policy in effect from 1st April 2025). If a class is missed, the student will still receive all relevant materials, including trial tests and whiteboard content.

Example: If your child attends 9 out of 10 classes in Term 1, you will only be billed for 9 classes. However, your child will still receive all 10 sets of trial tests, homework, and whiteboard notes.

Why are Trial Tests assigned a week before class? +

Students complete the tests at home and review their incorrect answers independently, as they have access to both the questions and solutions immediately after the test. In the following class, any questions that remain unclear are discussed in detail. This method is proven to support effective learning retention.

Labvision AI homework modules are adaptive and differ from traditional WEMT-style homework. While the modules are tailored to the student's grade and term, the selection of questions adjusts based on the student's performance. Achieving a perfect score is nearly impossible as the software continuously presents more challenging questions.

Why are Science Preptive trial tests ahead of class curricula? +

Preptive trial tests in Term 1 and Term 2 for Grades 7–10 include topics not yet covered in class. By the end of Term 2, classroom instruction catches up. Preptive Science tests are designed to enhance learning through two key methods:

  1. Cumulative learning: Tests include content from previous grade levels to reinforce prior knowledge.
  2. Advanced exposure: Tests are assigned slightly ahead of the classroom curriculum, encouraging students to think critically.

Others

If a student fails the entry test, does it mean they won't be academically successful? +

Absolutely not. Our entry test is just one of many assessments students encounter in their academic journey. A less-than-ideal result in one test does not indicate a lack of academic ability.

If your child needs tutoring support, we encourage you to explore the many quality alternatives available that may better match their current academic needs and learning style.

Can I resell Preptive trial test and class materials received? +

No. The materials provided are strictly for the personal use of students who have paid the tuition fees. Resale is strictly prohibited.

Any attempt to sell our materials on Facebook Marketplace or other platforms will result in legal action. Our digital forensics team actively monitors various forums and marketplaces for unauthorised resale attempts.

Why does Siba Sir not teach HAST/EduTest school transfer courses? +

We specialise in high school tutoring targeted towards the HSC, with a strong emphasis on Maths and Science. Our high school classes fill up quickly, and we're known for our commitment to helping students excel in their high school journey.

We believe in offering tutoring only when it genuinely benefits students. We don't create courses simply because there's a demand for them. This is why we begin tutoring from Grade 5 onwards, as we believe younger children are generally not ready to gain significant advantages from formal tutoring.

Similarly, we don't provide HAST/EduTest school transfer tutoring because we're not convinced of its benefits. We encourage students to remain at their current schools and concentrate on their high school curricula focused on the HSC.

How can I get more information about your programs? +
For authentic feedback about our programs, we recommend speaking directly with neighbours whose children attend selective schools, particularly those in Western Sydney. You may also email us directly.
